Flew with Marauder tonight! :D

Ai bomber speed was 200mph
I escorted them from England to le Havre. I suspect they dropped the bombs over water far away from le Havre...

anyway mission is fun!
also the smokes are super coreographics!

Some lag here and there but nothing too serious!

PS i keep destroying spits wile pulling up at high speed! I hate breaking the wings that way!

Hi guys

Few things about thin experiences in missions with Modpack.

First on LW side I took off from Lessay in Bf109. Enemy raid was approx. in advertised position and on time. But altitude shold be 5km (i think), in reality aprox 9-10km. B24 flyed almost uncontrolled (or with drunked pilots dancing in Gagman stile :D ), like flock of sparrows, they changing formation, heading and altitude almost nonstop. And finally, no defend fire from gunners, no single bullet. :(

Then I switch to the allied side, and shortly after take off I find a flight of 3 Ju88 flying low near coast heading east. Straight flight was ok, but on waypoint they are turning agressively with 80 degrees bank at maximum G, and formation was broken. They didn't fight back at all, similar to the B24s. Speed of bombers was appropriate, my Spit need same time to catch them.

Planes (and ships) looks good, the mod can give same life to actually empty and melancholy DCS WW2 world, but mod itself need a lot of work to make it usable in form what is expected for SoW.

At least same defending fire is necessary, shoting on sitting ducks is not very funny. Or defenseless aircrafts were same kind of a bug related to me exclusively?

Thanks julb,
We know some of the modded aircraft behave badly.
We have some people looking at their code, but the next mod pack update will not be until January, so we can only make minor mission edits until then to try and reduce the silliness.

Joker and I intercepted the high-flying Allied bombers. They were at about 8km when we got to them... and they were weaving back and forth. Then they seemed to run out of fuel, as the con-trails stopped and they glided down into the sea.

I've noticed that in the mission editor, there is a "range" field for the AI aircraft, whihc for at least one of them is fixed at 25 miles.
I wonder where this value comes from and what it means.. but it might be influencing their behaviour?
In the end, given that these are all modded AI, we should do everything we can to make them work, including editing the .lue files etc.
If we can, effectively develope "fixes" for the mods, then we will report these fixes back to the orignal mod authors and have them offically revised.

from some early test (to be confirmed) on HE111 with FM not yet modded we found:
They work well up to the target
after that they stop defending themselves
and sometimes diving down as if without fuel (with airmen parachuting?)

Dietrich and I experiecned this also with B24s over the weekend. It presented similar to what one would expect to see if it was a fuel issue ....
They were up in the contrails flying non straight routes ("S" ing ) and then started to fall out of the sky (just over the Normandy coast line of something-sur-mer ?? )

S!
