IL-2 BoBo map announced

IL-2:BoX have now indicated where there Battle-of-Bodenplatte map will be, along with the airfields.

The map area is further east than what I expected and I am somewhat surprised they are including Frankfurt.

From the announcement, they have said that the operations will cover more than just BoBo itself, and will include:

Operation Market Garden (September 17 – 26, 1944)
Battle of Aachen (October 2 – 21, 1944)
Battle of the Scheldt (October 2 – November 8, 1944)
Operation Queen (November 16 – December 15, 1944)
Operation Watch on the Rhine (December 16 – 25, 1944)
Allied Counter-Offensive (December 26, 1944 – January 25, 1945)
Operation Bodenplatte (January 1, 1945)
Operation Veritable (February 8 – March 10, 1945)
Operation Clarion (February 22 – 23, 1945)
Operation Grenade (February 23 – March 10, 1945)
Operation Plunder (March 23 – 28, 1945)

No doubt the exact details of the map are not final. Hopefully, they will add a couple of airbases on the Dutch coast and in north-east France to fill it out a bit.

Im also positivly suprised that they are going for so big map, didnt expect that size.
And if moders finish Li-2, it can be used as C-47 for thouse early operations.
You could have server just runing operations on this map and have planty missions for it.
Im starting to think from how they are doing cliped and normal wing Spitfire, they maybe decide to do typhon and tempest in one airplane, and maybe razerback and bubble P-47s and P-51s in one airplane, and P-38J and P-38L in that one so they have more airplanes fiting that early phase.

Lucky you, one of the downsides of Germany not invading Britain is the lack of combat flight sims set in North West England - but on the plus side the Germans didn't invade Britain, so that's nice.

The thing is though, that the north-west did get hit during the Blitz. If I recall correctly, Liverpool was the second-most bombed city in the UK after London. And Manchester and Scheffield were also raided. Although technically not England, Belfast and Glasgow were also hit. It all seems rather ripe for a flight combat sim really. Or at least a "Blitz" edition of one of the existing ones. But, yes, with the exception of the epic Battle of Graveney Marsh, it is true there was no ground invasion, thus explaining the state of the modern British railway system.

Well, that's as may be - but the only places around here that are of interest were a Sunderland Flying Boat factory and some place that builds Submarines, not that you'd want to bomb such nice places. :P

Can’t really do Typhoon and Tempest as one aircraft, they’re very different. I bet the clipped wings will be an option in the load out screen as opposed to a different model entirely.

Yes your right, i hoped for to mutch, i see BlackSix already posted that they have no intent to make razerback P-51s, only Bubble one. https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/36 ... ent=618336

Most suprising post i saw was that they will not do G14/AS, ( https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/34 ... ent=618814 ) it was most used version in this operation, probably planty of Axis onlys will be angry about that, but K4 is more then enought, it will be unmatched by any allied airplane :D

It's crazy the way some pilots argue over sub-types. The are implementing G14, but the argument is now about needing a G14/AS... next they will want the G14/ASy sub-sub-variant. One chap suggested that a G10 was good enough for a G14. They are probably ordering more tar and feathers as I write this. And these variants are all high-alt planes... do BoX fights really get that high?

Interesting to see in the post ([ur=https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/34258-bobp-luftwaffe-dates-and-plane-types-sep-1944-mar-1945/?do=findComment&comment=618814l]ref[/url]) that the Mosquito, B17 and B24 are all ruled out.
