Question to numbers of AI and objects on a online map

Hi gents,

i am trying to build Operation Toatlize for SoW to run as event or as map. I got signal flares for comunication working, so the units will shoot red flares when under attack and green flares when get shot from frindly. Also it works for clear for landing ( green flare ) or when you got in your landing aproach under attack ( red flares ). Also i got 6x B-17 formation where one will spawn randomly in at mission start, so every time the mission starts you will have a different B-17 formation with a different inbound route to different targets. All testet on maufs server and runs fine, the only problem i have is, i dont know how many objects as target i can put in a map and how many AI units ( AAA and trucks ) i can have in the map also. As on maufs server even without any objects we get stutters when coming into fireing range to an other plane.

So how many object i can place into this map to run it on online / on SoW ? As on my system as singleplayer it runs nice and smooth with more than 1500 objects + 100 AAA units and some more AI units to hunt down.

Nobody knows the answer to this question yet!

BlueFlag has 29 Targets. Each target has around 50 objects.
So thats, 1500 objects. And BlueFlag had some bad stutter last night with 30 players...

So, start with 1500.. and then test it.

Less is More (my immediate reaction)

In my mind, fewer and smoother early on is better than more objects but with stutters.

One can always add more objects going forward and sell the change as progress.
It is less easy when there is a need to remove objects to fix a problem and still sell that change as progress.
(Both cases may well be progress in principle, but the former builds positive perception, the latter does not!)
