Training Tip No. 1: If you're in the rear seat and are having trouble seeing what is ahead of you then simply decapitate the person in the front seat.

I hope one day they go back and re-do the Mustang Pilot model to the same level as the Spitfire Pilot model, with the proper WW2 gear etc, although I imagine that would be a long way off even if it were on their radar.

Yes, we are planning basic DCS the for the squadron now. About half won't fly DCS because they find it too complicated.

Really?

I think it is rather relative. Sure, DCS is more complicated than BoX, but it is a question of procedure and set-up. Still, I understand the "activation energy" required to get started on something new. Key-mapping, mods, versions, etc.. I myself have been a bit slow on the uptake because of the hassle of setting up again (and again).

In the XVII we used to have some basic-assume-nothing-checklist procedures to get people installed, setup and airborne in a given type with the minimum of fuss. At least not having to research things helps a lot. Add to that some two-seater training, and that would be rather cool.

So it is fully flyable from the rear seat? I asked for this a while ago! Will have to give it a go!
