SoW - DCS Normandy Mission - Thursday?

Postby Admin (Philstyle) » Mon May 29, 2017 6:57 am

Hi all,

I will be running another "test" of last night's (failed) mission again sometime this week, with the goal of hosting it "live", probably on thursday evening.

I will keep the slots limited, but might increase from 20 to 25 or so. If there is a lot of interest, then I will password the server to reserve slots for SoW regulars.

I resolved the issue with the german aircraft mysteriously "exploding" soon after takeoff. It seems one of the ships I placed offshore was not a WW2 boat, but a modern missle-equipped vessel. . . (Mr Missile, allow me to introduce Herr Focke-Wulf).

I've also update the weather. Th tempertaure is increased to 15 degrees. Clouds are now overcast and the wind reduced a little. The rain will still be present below cloud altitued (~10,000ft / 3.5km)

Hopefully I can update the briefing too, before the rerun.

Go for the leader, if you can. The path is the goal, the kill the result.
The one who has 12 leads. The one who has six follows.

Jolly good Dixon.

Mission start for 1845 UK time.
A couple of B17 raids will come in from blighty, to Bomb CAEN area. The bombers take about 30 mins to get to France, so no hurry to get airborne at misison start. Late comers should still get some action.

Allies will have some forward bases in Cherbourg peninsular.

Friendly map markers will be on, so you can see the bombers.
External views and labels off.

Cloudy, early morning map setting.

Allied role is escort for B17s and Air Superiority.
P51s will be available, any your're welcome to use them to go bomb luftwaffe bases around CAEN to keep their heads down if you want to.

Hi,

If there would be a space (free slots) on the SOW server I would like to report the combat readiness of PFT pilots.

PS. I'm glad that the server finally came back.
